Chukka 1.
With the weather being hot and sunny and a good crowd assembled, Sloe Cottage received half a goal handicap start, which they immediately capitalized on with Georgina Wood charging straight out of the line up and galloping fast up the ground and slotting one between the posts in the first thirty seconds making the score Sloe Cottage 1.5 Roca Rosa 0. From the centre Roca Rosa got away and in spite of some hefty defensive riding off from Di Jack, Lottie Lamacraft scored a good galloping gaol making the score 1.5/1 in Sloe Cottage’s favour. The chukka was dominated with some very fast polo and some excellent stick hooking but no further goals were scored and the chukka ended with the score Sloe Cottage 1.5 Roca Rosa 1.
Chukka 2.
With chukka I ending on a whistle, Roca Rosa were awarded a spot penalty about 25 yards out, which was taken by Jess Andrews who, with considerable power, put the ball straight through the goal bringing the score to Sloe Cottage 1.5 Roca Rosa 2. From the centre Sloe Cottage pushed hard to get the ball within Roca Rosa’s 30 yard line and Georgina Wood unleashed a good back hander which was picked up by Deborah Aplin who converted it making the score Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 2. The chukka concluded to half time without any additions to the score line and still the match speed was high as were the crowd’s expectations. Score Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 2.
Chukka 3.
Chukka 3 started and after an inadvertent line crossing Roca Rosa were awarded a 30 yard penalty which Jess Andrews almost casually popped between the posts making the score Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 3. The chukka proceeded with some excellent, very fast polo and Sloe Cottage, who were under constant attack, keeping a cool defensive block against Roca Rosa and thus the chukka finished. Score Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 3.
Chukka 4.
From the line up Roca Rosa took the ball, with the help of Helen Goddard-Watts,to right in front of the Sloe Cottage goal but Sloe defended really well for sometime, but eventually Roca Rosa found the slightest chink and put the ball between the post bringing the score to Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 4. In spite of Sloe Cottage giving a final push and peppering the Roca Rosa goal area, a combination of good defence and some luck needed, no further goals were scored and Roca Rosa came out the winners of the Ladies Tournament 2010 score Sloe Cottage 2.5 Roca Rosa 4.

An exhibition match was also held between Zencom, who fielded a 4 goal team and Dark Ice who showed up with a 3 goal. This match was very fast indeed and Dark Ice received a half goal handicap start. Zencom was made up as follows;
Jim Pittard -2, Tom Lamacraft 1,Glenn Sheriff 3, Glen Armstrong 2 and Dark Ice Mark Goddard-watts -2,Maxi Soto 3,Roddy stanning 3,Ed courage -1.
Zencom just pipped it winning 4 goals to 3.5. A big thank you to Jim and Mark for sponsoring the players thus enabling the match which was enjoyed by all.
